Campos, Highmark Health Partner on Research with Seniors

Campos recently partnered with Highmark Health to field ethnographic research among seniors in its footprint as part of an ongoing effort to increase the use of health technologies among this population, and the Pittsburgh Business Times is taking notice.

“Across the country there’s an issue with getting seniors engaged with health care technology,” Keith LeJeune, Highmark Health’s SVP of research and innovation told the Business Times. “Our overall utilization rates tend to be low in terms of willingness to accept having some digital health solution, particularly when that solution is in your home.”

The piece provides details about Highmark’s Support For Seniors program, which seeks to make it easier for seniors to use digital health technologies. As part of this initiative, Campos conducted ethnographic interviews in seniors’ homes to gain a better understanding of their day-to-day lives and barriers to use.
