Making a Home for the Maker Movement

CCAC had conceived the idea of building a Workforce Training Center, but they needed proof of concept and guidance on what such a center should include.

We conducted a two-phase study to determine the market potential and develop a detailed vision for the center. We found that CCAC had an immense opportunity to position itself as a premiere and innovative community college through a new center offering interdisciplinary learning through collaborative “makerspaces.”

Our report justified the center’s mission and vision so effectively that CCAC deployed it as one of their main pieces of fundraising collateral, sending it out to the region’s largest employers and charitable donors.
